Psychēra.

Life is not linear, we move through seasons of growth, change, and quiet recalibration, some graceful, and others unexpected.

Our experiences are not only remembered, they are held in the body, the nervous system and in the subtle architecture of who we are.

What we have experienced, the culture, the family, the beliefs, what we carry, invariably shapes how we feel, how we respond, and how connected we are to ourselves and our environment.

‘Self’ is my signature offering, it combines an understanding of the ourselves , through the lens of psychology, alongside the restorative movement with muscles and fascia.

We follow Self: The Journey of You , a book that incorporates both a framework and a practice. A way of exploring our inner world with guided self-enquiry, reflective dialogue, meditation, and restorative bodywork to support a more somatic way of being.

In person sessions can be light, grounded in massage, meditation, and gentle wellness enquiry, or they can deepen into more expansive work.

We work towards releasing held tension in the body while uncovering the patterns, beliefs, and emotional imprints that shape your experience of life.

Through self-enquiry, we begin with your life as it has been lived, and felt. We visit your life story, your nervous system, your patterns of emotional regulation, your energy, and your interoception, how you sense and experience yourself from within.

Together, we create a map. A map of where you have been, how your experiences have been held in the body, and how they continue to shape your responses, your choices, and your way of being.

For many, this is a unique experience. Unless you have consciously explored your own narrative in this way, it can be an illuminating experience that feel deeply clarifying.

With this awareness comes discernment.

You begin to understand why you have responded as you have, why you stayed, moved, spoke, or held back. What once felt automatic becomes visible. What was unconscious becomes available for choice.

This work is psychologically significant. It acts as a portal, as an opening into greater awareness, clarity, informed thinking, and a more intentional way of living. From here, wellbeing is no longer something external, it is understood, embodied, and chosen.

Sessions And Experiences

Tara Dakin is a Wellness Expert and Registered Developmental Psychologist specialising in mind and body regulation. She is also a massage and movement therapist, Pilates mat instructor, Reiki practitioner, and qualified teacher.

Here we see ‘Clenching’.

Clenching is a simple, intentional way of bringing awareness to tension in the body. It involves deliberately tightening specific muscle groups, such as the fists, jaw, shoulders, or legs, holding briefly, and then releasing.

We use clenching as part of a tension-release toolkit when the body feels overwhelmed, restless, or dysregulated. By consciously creating tension and then letting it go, we help the nervous system recognise the difference between holding and releasing. This can support a return to a calmer, more regulated state.

Clenching is especially useful when stress feels “stuck” in the body, or when relaxation feels out of reach. It offers a controlled, physical pathway to discharge tension and reconnect with a sense of ease.

    Your experience begins with a quiet moment of arrival and a gentle wellness consultation, this is an invitation to be heard, to pause, and to reconnect with how you are feeling physically, mentally, and emotionally. This refined check-in allows your treatment to be intuitively and expertly tailored to your needs.

    For the massage , you may choose to be seated or fully reclined, and select your focus: a deeply relieving shoulder, neck, and head massage, or a more expansive back, neck, shoulder, and head experience.

    Using slow, flowing, and intentional techniques, the massage works to dissolve tension, ease muscular holding, and encourage the nervous system into a state of deep regulation. Each movement is delivered with precision and care, allowing the body to unwind and the mind to quieten.

    As your treatment draws to a close, you are guided into a tranquil, mindful meditation, gently centring your awareness, grounding your body, and creating a lasting sense of inner stillness.

    You are invited to return slowly, with a glass of water offered to support hydration and continued wellbeing throughout your day.

  • Regulation Massage with Wellness

    A deeply restorative treatment designed to bring the body and mind back into balance.

    This experience begins with a gentle, guided self-enquiry, this is an opportunity to pause and turn inward. Through the practice of interoception, we explore your body’s inner landscape, noticing where tension, stress, or long-held patterns may reside, that may have been carried quietly for years.

    We softly reflect on your overall wellbeing, including sleep, energy levels, and self-care rhythms, creating a compassionate awareness of how you live and move through your days. From here, you are guided through simple, intuitive ways to stretch, release, and support your body in daily life.

    The session then flows into a deeply relaxing massage, focusing on the back, shoulders, neck, and head. Slow, attentive touch works to ease muscular tension, calm the nervous system, and encourage a sense of physical and emotional release.

    To complete your experience, you are guided into a soothing meditation, allowing the mind to settle, ground, and gently return to a place of calm and centred awareness.

    This is a truly luxurious, nurturing treatment, supporting regulation, restoration, and reconnection to self.

  • Self, The Journey Of You

    We begin with your personal copy of ‘Self: The Journey of You, a beautifully guided companion into your inner world.

    The first chapter opens gently, inviting you into a reflective enquiry of your daily life.

    From here, your Life Story begins to unfold, softly, thoughtfully, before we pause, allowing space for awareness to emerge.

    We then move into interoception, the practice of tuning into your internal bodily experience. Together, we explore your sensations, noticing where your attention is naturally drawn, and consider what your body may be holding across time, experience, and emotion.

    From this awareness, we may gently introduce movement, some stretching, soft release, and the unwinding of held or accumulated energy. that can manifest in the hips, back, shoulders, neck. This is guided by you, your body, and what feels held and ready shift.

    Your session closes with the choice of a guided meditation, or a deeply relaxing head, neck, and shoulder massage.

    We then close and you leave with your book to continue reading, reflecting, writing, and becoming aware of yourself.

    Your Journey Beyond the Session

    You may choose to continue to complete the book independently. alternatively, you may choose to return for further in-person sessions, or we can meet online to explore the insights and patterns that begin to emerge.

    What is so beautiful about this offering is that unless you have already written your autobiography, kept journals, or captured your memoir, this process becomes a first true gathering of your life onto the page, a powerful act of witnessing yourself. Time spent in this way is profoundly individual.

2026 onwards, represents a movement toward psychological literacy, nervous system awareness, emotional regulation, and a more integrated understanding of the self.

Through knowledge of psychology, the nervous system, emotional processes, and life-force energy, we begin to understand how we are shaped, and how we can live with greater agency and choice.

When we understand our nervous system, how energy moves through us, and how the mind, body, and inner life operate as a single system, a coherence becomes possible. We can begin to think, feel, move, and live with greater clarity and awareness
